Harvester Starts Fire, Is Destroyed By Fire

Farm equipment sparks vegetation fire in California Valley

A farm equipment fire started a vegetation fire on Friday caused a total of more than $340,000 in damage, according to County/Cal Fire.

The vegetation fire on Bitter Water Road began around 5:45 p.m. and burned for nearly an hour. It consumed around 35 acres, according to County/Cal Fire. About $2,500 worth of crops were burned.

The fire started at a grain harvester, according to County/Cal Fire. The $340,000 harvester was completely destroyed.

No one was hurt.

Editor's Note: Bitter Water Rd is east of Hwy 41 near Shandon, CA in San Luis Obispo County.
