Update: 0630 7-15-08
Observed fire behavior- Primarily backing fire on north aspect slope with isolated runs and single tree torching.
Fire growth potential remains high.
Unified command: CIIMT2 (Molumby, IC), Cal Fire (Hutchinson, IC), and Fort Hunter Liggett (Crum, IC). Long range contingency plans continue to be developed. Due to extended travel times, a spike camp has been established at Greenfield High School.
Actions planned for next operational period:
Continue indirect line construction on northeast. Holding and improving direct line on southwest. Prepare for burnout operations to be initiated in the near future along the east flank. Provide structure protection. Survey and triage potentially affected structures north of fire.
Notes: - Fire actively spreading primarily to north and east. Fire behavior during yesterdays firestorm extreme. According those on fire it was pulling Oak trees out of ground during run. Fire has now burned into Reliz and Vaquero Canyons on NE side, over Pinyon Peak into Horse Canyon on NW and over Junipero Serra into the Santa Lucia drainage on the West side.
Update: Possibly 34,000+ acres - Extreme fire behavior with plume dominated columns with mid-range spotting. Fire actively spreading primarily to north and east. Fire behavior during yesterdays firestorm was extreme. According those on fire it was pulling Oak trees out of ground during run. Fire has now burned into Reliz and Vaquero Canyons on NE side, over Pinyon Peak into Horse Canyon on NW and over Junipero Serra into the Santa Lucia drainage on the West side.
Update: 1800 6-14-08 (ICS-209) -CA-BTU, 23,162 acres and 45 percent contained; the eastward spread has slowed significantly, although up-canyon winds and terrain are making it difficult to completely stop the spread of the fire.
Primary spread of the fire is to the north and northeast.

Update: Increased fire behavior with running and spotting on the south east flank of the fire just north of Memorial Park. fire made big run toward North West, Potential for the fire to continue growing remains high. Multiple Local Gov strike teams ordered for today (XSJ4178C, XNE 4100C, XMY2175C)
IC: Los Padres National Forest - The incident remains under unified command with CIIMT2 (Molumby, IC), Cal Fire (Hutchinson, IC), and Fort Hunter Liggett (Crum, IC). Long range contingency plans are currently being developed. A spike camp, for 200 to 300 personnel, is being established at Greenfield High School and scheduled to begin operation tommorrow morning.
