Burn permits suspended - Amador, El Dorado counties

CAL FIRE to suspend burn permits in Amador and El Dorado counties.

EFFECTIVE TODAY 8:00 AM.

All-time high burn conditions and the concentration of firefighting resources to large fires throughout the state have prompted California fire officials to suspend outdoor burn permits in Amador and El Dorado counties.

According to a California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection news release, outdoor burn permits are suspended starting 8 a.m. Today.

Campfires will be allowed in designated campgrounds with permission from local authorities.

Contact your nearest Cal Fire facility for further information.

The sale or discharge of all fireworks is illegal - Cal Fire officials would also like to remind residents that the sale or discharge of all fireworks are prohibited in all of El Dorado County and in most parts of Amador County.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.
