A family of four was displaced from their home early this morning following a structure fire in the Don Pedro area.

The fire was reported at 3:51 a.m., at 4156 Abeto St., according to Cal Fire Communications Officer Jim Devoll.

One person in the home suffered hand burns and was taken to a hospital for treatment. The name of the person and the hospital were unavailable.

The fire victims were attempting to stay with friends in the fire's wake.

The fire's cause had not been determined this morning.

"This Editor notes from scanner traffic of the incident that the family has 2 children under 5 yrs old, and the Red Cross is currently meeting with them to provide assistance."

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
