Escondido Fire Department recruiting senior volunteers

ESCONDIDO – The Escondido Fire Department is recruiting senior volunteers 55 and older to help with tasks, including delivering food and water to firefighters at emergencies and doing clerical work.
A two-hour orientation will begin at 9 a.m. April 15 at Fire Station No. 5, 2319 Felicita Road. Applications will be available there or can be picked up at City Hall, 201 N. Broadway, or online at www.escondido.org/fire.
Volunteers must have valid California driver's licenses but do not have to have past firefighting or emergency medical experience. Volunteers should be able to assist at least four hours a week or 16 hours a month.
The Fire Department will provide volunteers with training, uniforms, protective gear and communications equipment.
