Eldorado National Forest - Prescribed Fire - Last Chance

Last Chance Prescribed Fire Incident Information

Summary

The US Forest Service is conducting a prescribe burn in the vicinity of Grizzly Flat near Caldor Road. If conditions are favorable, up to 200 acres may be burned over a two day period on April 30 and May 1. The fire is designed to burn along the ground to remove low growing vegetation, known as Bear Clover, dead branches and other natural debris situated under the trees. Smoke will be visible during the burn. Fire equipment and personnel are on hand during the ignition and patrols will take place following the burn. The prescribe burn is named Last Chance.
