The Lake Arrowhead fires - Burning into Butler 2

The Lake Arrowhead fires on Geomac. The most active part of the fire appears to be a north east flank bumping into the Butler fire burn from which burned about twenty days ago.

The Slide Fire and The Grass Valley Fires
The Slide Fire at 0% containment continues to grow and has burned over 10,000 acres. A volunteer firefighter who fought the blaze in Green Valley Lake and Running Springs said that for every one house there were unable to save, firefighters managed to save five. The fire has burned down Highway 330 to near the middle passing lane and 1N09.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
