Shasta County will lift restrictions on open burning Monday.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said burn permits will be required between Monday and Oct. 31. All burning, with the exception of residential debris burns, requires an additional permit from the Shasta County Air Quality Management District.

In the Shasta County Fire Department district, permits for residential burning will be not be required after Nov. 1.

Residents wishing to burn will still need to check the burn day status in all areas.

Shasta County burn day information is available at 224-8777 or 1-800-411-8728. In Trinity County, residents can call 1-866-287-6329.
