8000 + Acres 1% containment - Structure loss - Evacuations in Ramona
Updates:The 78 Fire is 3,000 acres, structures are threatened in the fire area. The fire has crossed Highway 78 in several places. The fire is burning toward Old Julian Highway. Highway 78 is closed in the fire area, as is Old Julian Highway, between the communities of Ramona and Santa Ysabel.
Additional firefighting resources have been ordered and are coming from a distance.
Two Incident Command Teams have been ordered, one for each incident (Harris and Highway 78).
CHP CAD reporting fire has jumped Highway 67 east of Ramona.
Size: @ 1430 hrs 2000 acres.
Location: Large header visible per CHP CAD in area of Deer Canyon in Julian area.

Major problems/concerns:
SECOND MAJOR FIRE IN UNIT AND WITH OTHER FIRES IN REGION, WE WILL RUN SHORT OF RESOURCES, WILL BE HARD TO FILL POSITIONS.
