Crews Fight Brush Fire Near 261 Toll Road At Santiago Canyon Road - News Story - KNBC | Los Angeles

News Story - KNBC :

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. -- Orange County firefighters battled a brush fire Friday near the northbound 261 Toll Road and Santiago Canyon Road in an unincorporated area near Irvine.

The flames burned dry vegetation, said Orange County Fire Authority Battalion Chief Ed Fleming. The fire was near the toll road's intersection with the 241 Toll Road.

Traffic slowed along both roads.

No structures were threatened, according to fire officials. The flames did not burn toward homes, according to OC fire officials.

About 10 to 15 acres burned.

Fire crews responded at 5 p.m.

Winds were at 10 mph.
