CA-LPF- Zaca - CAL FIRE NEWS ZACA UPDATE: Many new resources ordered, Fire showed increased activity late yesterday additional 600 acres burned, The fire was very active on its E/SE side in the San Rafael Mountain area within the San Rafael Wilderness. Winds caused the fire to spot across handlines and burn into heavy brush, Water-dropping helicopters and retardant-dropping airtankers attacked the fire all afternoon, burning an additional 600 acres by about 6:00p.m.

1)On site report says nice column with ice cap @ 0830 hrs. Possibly 4 hand crews on fire at time of slop-over. Aircraft had been demobed along with most of fire camp. Resources being reordered.

The active portion of the fire is mostly within the San Rafael Wilderness,however the fire has crossed McKinley Peak and is backing down the hill.The fire spread an additional 2,000 to 3,000 acres or more over the night.
Structures are threatened and six type 3 strike team's have been
ordered for this morning. Structure protection has been initiated for Peachtree. Major effort will be to hold the western flank of the fire and keep it from moving toward Peachtree.
Fire camp is ramping back up.
