Update: 19:30hrs - 1,300 acres - 0% containment, Threat to Miranda Pines Campground off of Sierra Madre Road.
Update: 18:00hrs - Fire now reported at 1200 acres, Texas Canyon, Palomar Hotshots enroute.
Update: 17:30hrs - Per SBC PIO Twitter: SBCFireDO536"La Brea" Inc. Veg. Fire. Los Padres Nation Forest. East of Santa Maria. 800 Acres. SBC Fire assisting One Helo, One Crew, two Dozers
Update: 17:00 - CCIMT7 meeting at Santa Maria DO @0600 tommorow
300+ acres now and ordering Type II IMT. Burning in the wilderness. Aircraft show for now.
Update: 16:30 - Per AA 250-300 acres, AA predicting 1500 acres by tonight, little to no containment at this time.
Update: 16:00 - AA is saying no engine access. ATs - 21, 76, 78, 81, 888 just sent to the fire from Porterville AB, CNF got a resource order for the fire at 15:58.
West and south sides are in the wilderness. Fire may run into the old Brown burn. From the satellite picture it has a good north wind on it.
Update: 15:45 - Fire is on the south-facing slope 150 acres growing in all directions.
Update: 15:20 - Per IC - 100 acres, Rapid rate of spread, long range spotting, Keep everything coming need Air Tankers and Helicopters.
Location: Las Padres National Forest, Access is Cottonwood Cyn of 166.
GPS Guesstimate: Lat +34° 57' 5.23" / Long -119° 58' 40.80"
IA: 15:10 hrs? New start Hwy 166 Sierra Madrea Ridge, 80 to 100 acres, RROS, long range spotting. large resource orders for this fire. 2nd Alarm ordered.
