A CAL FIRE crew bus involved in a solo-vehicle traffic collision: CAL FIRE Crew Buggy roll-over - 8 injuries; 2 critical, 6 moderate, 12 minor injuries.
6-23 1930hrs: Traffic accident involving a CAL FIRE inmate crew transport bus apparently caused by a failed tire causing loss of control and vehicle to roll over.

Comments: CAL FIRE/Riverside County Firefighters responded to a solo-vehicle traffic collision involving a CAL FIRE inmate crew transport bus. The incident resulted in eight injuries; two critical and six moderate. One of the two critically injured was transported via air ambulance to a local trauma center. The other critical and six moderate victims were transported via ground ambulance to area hospitals. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Public Information Officer, Captain Fernando Herrera can be reached at 760-250-9881. Updates will be posted as information becomes available. UPDATE 06/23/2008 9:45 P.M.: Updated information on injuries totals - Two critical, two moderate and 12 minor injuries. The 12 minor injuries were treated at the scene and were not transported to hospitals. Additional updates will be posted as information becomes available.
