Four Cal Fire firefighters were injured when their engine was burned over by fire, Two
were critically burned, two minor burns, all flown to UCSD Burn Unit,
One civilian fatality, one civilian critically burned, one civilian minor
burns.
This occurred just north of the California Mexico border
The Firefighters were flown to the UCSD burn center in Hillcrest in unknown conditions according to CalFire.
The incident may be related to a report by the California Highway Patrol that they had lost radio contact with one fire crew about an hour prior to that.
The Harris Fire that began early Sunday morning about 70 miles east of San Diego and has burned more than 2,500 acres and injured at least these four firefighters, four civilians and has killed one civilian. There are unconfirmed reports of other civilian burn victims.
