SOUTH COMPLEX, CA-SHF-002108 Hyampom, Trinity County

Currently, multiple structures are immediately threatened in the Hyampom, Burnt Ranch and Coral Bottom communities.

SOUTH COMPLEX FIRES 8/9/2015

Updates as available: 

08/09/2015 0800: 16964 Acres 5% Multiple structures remain immediately threatened in the Hyampom, Springer, Skunk Ranch, end of Kerlin Creek Rd, Castle Rock area, Burnt Ranch and Coral Bottom communities. Evacuations are in place and additional areas could be be threatened based on changing conditions. Despite moderating temperatures and increased humidities over the next several days drought stressed fuels, steep terrain will continue to resist containment efforts of the limited resources assigned to these fires. Fatigue management remains a priority until sufficient resources are assigned. There are numerous hazard snags issues in 2008 fire scars.
12 hours: The fires are expected to continue to impact the communities of Hyampom, Springer, Burnt Ranch, Corral Bottom and surrounding areas. A major electric transmission line passes through the projected fire area. Also threatened is the Trinity River Scenic Highway, New York Bar along Highway 299 and endanger salmon habitat. 
24 hours: The fires are expected to continue to impact the communities of Hyampom, Springer, Burnt Ranch, Corral Bottom and surrounding areas. A major electric transmission line passes through the projected fire area. Also threatened is the Trinity River Scenic Highway, New York Bar along Highway 299 and endanger salmon habitat. 
48 hours: The fires are expected to continue to impact the communities of Hyampom, Springer, Burnt Ranch, Corral Bottom and surrounding areas. A major electric transmission line passes through the projected fire area. Also threatened is the Trinity River Scenic Highway, New York Bar along Highway 299 and endanger salmon habitat. 
72 hours: The fires are expected to continue to impact the communities of Hyampom, Springer, Burnt Ranch, Corral Bottom and surrounding areas. A major electric transmission line passes through the projected fire area. Also threatened is the Trinity River Scenic Highway, New York Bar along Highway 299 and endanger salmon habitat. 
08/05/2015 0800: 12156 Acres 0%,  Evacuations continue and additional areas could be threatened based on changing conditions, Next 12 hours: The fires are expected to continue to impact the communities of Hyampom, Burnt Ranch, Corral Bottom and surrounding areas. A major electric transmission line presses through the projected fire area. Also threatened is the Trinity River Scenic Highway, New York Bar along Highway 299 and endanger salmon habitat.

Life, Safety, and Health Status/Threat Remarks: Receptive drought stressed fuels, steep terrain and temperatures in the mid 80s and low 90s with relative humidities in the low 20s, will continue to hamper effectiveness of the limited resources assigned to these fires. Fatigue management will still be a priority until sufficient resources are assigned. There are numerous snags issues in 2008 fire scars.
