Draft Regional Action Plans Submitted to the WFEC

Draft Regional Action Plans for each of the Cohesive Strategy Regions - the NortheastSoutheast, and West - were submitted to the Wildland Fire Executive Council (WFEC) on March 5, 2013. The Action Plans were developed through a collaborative, intergovernmental, and public process. The Plans will be reviewed and considered for concurrence at the April 5, 2013, WFEC meeting.
The Secretary of the Interior and the Secretary of Agriculture established the Wildland Fire Executive Council (WFEC) to provide advice for coordinated national-level wildland fire leadership, direction, and program oversight in support of the Wildland Fire Leadership Council (WFLC).
The WFEC is established in accordance with the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA). Membership includes representatives from federal, tribal, state and local governments as well as non-governmental organizations. WFEC’s charter and current membership are available:

  1. The Board of Foresty and the US Forest Service plan to use herbisides, bulldoze, and grind 38 million acres of California Chaparral is inane and just plain dumb. This would destroy California as we know it and kill small mammal, reptiles and everything the depends on this habitat. Do not let this happen. We need all the green we can get in the time of climate change. Save California's Chapparal for future generations.
