Update: 08-09-09 800hrs - Riot at state prison #Chino last nite injured more than 200 inmates, 55 hospitalized. Buildings damaged by fire.
What: Major Riot and Major Structure fire.
Where: Chino State Prison in California.
When: The event began late Saturday, with the first tweets on the incident appearing around 8 p.m. local time. Multiple Twitterers say that the riot has led to fires.
Why: Twitter Reports indicate it started as a race-motivated altercation between Hispanics and African-Americans at the prison, but that can not be confirmed at this time.
Twitter account that provides updates on fires and emergency situations provided a series of updates on the riot:
