Update: Animal cruelty charges - Glynn Johnson MIA

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s investigation into the animal cruelty allegations made against Glynn Johnson on November 3 is continuing. For several days, investigators have attempted to contact Mr. Johnson to ask if he is willing to provide more information about the incident. Attempts to contact him by phone, at his home and through his employment have been unsuccessful so far.

dog puppy killer gylnn johnson-beat-dog.jpg Glynn Johnson is a Los Angeles County Assistant Fire Chief.

Chief Johnson is accused of beating a neighbor's six-month-old shepherd mix dog, Karley, so severely a veterinarian had to euthanize the puppy.
Vetenarian stated that the puppy had a crushed skull, crushed ear canals, severe eye damage, and brain damage, etc.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Sr. Investigator Cherie Blossfield at the Perris Station at (951) 210-1000.

As a public employee on paid administrative leave he has to be available to his employer, Law enforcement states that Los Angeles County Fire is unable to contact him either. This fugitive is making nearly 15,000 a month while hiding, time for the county to move to firing phase.

California Penal Code 597 makes it a felony for anyone who maliciously and intentionally maims, mutilates, tortures, or wounds a living animal.

The neighbors and victims the Toole family, who owned Karley, say they last saw him on Saturday.

The Toole family, Public, firefighters and animal rights activists are planning a demonstration on Saturday, November 15th, at 2 pm. The location is Van Buren and Washington in Riverside.

Unsubstantiated Rumor mill:
  1. Glynn Johnson is a Riverside County reserve deputy sheriff - Explains why is was not arrested at the scene.
  2. Glynn Johnson beat his pregnant daughter with closed fist requiring law enforcement response. - But was not arrested.
  3. Stories of prior animal cruelty in the neighborhood such as blinding neighbors dog with BB gun, and killing another neighbors dog in last year.
  4. Glynn Johnson is licensed to carrying a concealed weapon and has been seen in his neighborhood repeatably brandishing a pistol and badge.
  5. Glynn Johnson has a linkedin page stating he is a weapons licensed private investigator - Sounds like he has too much time on his hands as Chief?

"GUILTY?" & "RESPONSIBLE?"
Without a doubt, I am amazed at how many L.A. County (LACoFD) firefighters of all ranks are posting comments [at KTLA.com] to this tragic and despicable story. It's too bad not all of them have the guts to sign their names to their posts. Those who are still working at LACoFD are simply afraid of RETALLIATION toward them by Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman. Notice that one "fellow chief officer" posted a few hours before KTLA's prime time news at 10:00 PM last night [Friday, November 7, 2008], but did not sign his name. He must still be working, or I'm sure he would have signed his name.

As far as "guilty" and "responsible," I see it this way - and I believe many other LACoFD fire personnel will agree with me...

Chief Glynn Johnson is apparently the "GUILTY" party for beating the animal. He does not have enough brains to be responsible for his actions; he never has!

With that stated, it's my opinion that Fire Chief P. Michael Freeman is the "RESPONSIBLE" party to this felony. On numerous occasions over the years, "PMF" has had a number of opportunities and ample justification to terminate Glynn Johnson. Instead, he simply turned his back, shirked his duty as the Fire Chief, and PROMOTED this jerk-misfit to ASSistant Fire Chief!

BOTH Chief Freeman and Chief Johnson should be held liable in civil court, and clearly Chief Johnson should be held accountable in criminal court, too. He should be in jail right now! What in the hell is wrong with the Riverside Sheriff's Department and District Attorney? Hello? H-E-L-L-O? HELLO!Isn't anybody 'home' at the DA's and sheriff's offices? Is it true that Glynn Johnson is a reserve deputy sheriff in Riverside County?

TO THE L.A. COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS: Wake up! It's long-overdue for you people to appoint a new Fire Chief, just as it's long-overdue for Chief Freeman to have terminated Glynn Johnson. Had the Fire Chief done his job years ago, the Tooles would still have their dog, and this wouldn't be a story.

New Headline: Fire Chief valiantly fights off ferocious chucharuba puppy

In the spirit of fairness we post the following factual quotes with a editorial mixed in:
Fire Chief valiantly fights off ferocious puppy in a Mano to Dogo life struggle, Chief to be awarded bronze star for bravery, New book coming out soon telling the story of this amazing attack in the dead of night and how he survived using only his bare hands and a 11' 20lb rock to subdue the psychopathic puppy....Some witnesses say it was possibly a baby Chucharuba.

The following quotes came from a Press Enterprise article on November 8th...

"He said he had to have his thumb reattached and still suffers severe pain. "

"I didn't want to kill a puppy," Johnson said, his left thumb wrapped in gauze and his right hand bandaged.

"It surprised me. The dog tore into me with the ferocity of a badger. I'm very sorry they lost a dog but I was also the victim of an attack."

Johnson said he was hospitalized and suffered a broken bone in his thumb. He said he had to have his thumb reattached and still suffers severe pain.

The dog's owners, the Toole family, said the dog was found several months ago, off the side of the road and was adopted into their family. They said she had never been vicious and they believe Johnson maliciously pummeled the dog in a premeditated attack.

  1. i hope this fucker rots somewhere. I think i'd be able to escape an "attack" from a 6 month old puppy. he should be EMBARRASSED to claim that.

  2. What I think of this piece of human waste can't be expressed, I hope he truly suffers something to himself or his family that is even more painful!

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
