FINAL UPDATE: 1800hrs-
Tea Fire (CA-SBC-9981) 1,940 acres and is 100% contained. Favorable weather has allowed firefighters to make progress on all portions of the fire. 9 residences are damaged and 210 are destroyed. Demob continues, good job!

Cause: Suspicious, No accidental cause.

Santa Barbara County, California – CAL FIRE investigators say they have eliminated “all accidental causes” of the “Tea Fire” which impacted the small enclave of Montecito, in Santa Barbara County and are asking for the public’s help in finding who caused the suspicious blaze that destroyed 210 homes and caused 2 injuries,

“We are calling it human caused and we need the public’s help in identifying any activity in or around the afternoon of November 13th,” Doug Lannon spokesman for CAL fire, the state fire agency.

Fire Progression: Full containment expected this evening at 6 p.m.
Minimal Movement expected.

Status of reservoir water: last report issued at 7:45 a.m., Saturday morning indicated that water storage reservoir levels serving the fire area had increased to about 37%. As of the time and date this final press release, the District is notifying the community and governmental agencies that all reservoirs in the fire area have been restored to normal operating levels. Voluntary restrictions on water use have been lifted; however, the District is asking the community to use water wisely as clean up operations are continuing in the burn area.
