The Northern Gacc picked up 309 fires yesterday for 14,137 acres.

Clover Fire - 3,898 acres 0% containment

Wildland Fire -> WUF FUMT fire -> Full Suppression
Location: Approximately 8 miles North of Kennedy Meadows on the South Sierra Wilderness Area in Tulare County .
Fuels:
Sparse pine and mixed conifer.
Fire behavior: moderate rate of spread with isolated torching.Fire is putting up large header, Ice capping
IC: Central Sierra IIMT being ordered for a transition 6/21/08 at 1300 hrs. They will take over the fire 6/22 0600.
Plan: The fire is going from a FUMT fire to full suppression

Fire Activity: Wind-driven fire activity with spotting.

Brown Fire - 80% contained - 3,870 acres
Brown (CA-BEU-2390), Decreased fire activity late yesterday afternoon allowed crews to turn the corner on the fire through the night. Decreasing winds and increasing humidity allowed significant progress to be made on containment. Forward spread of fire has been stopped. Crews will be working to tie in right flank of fire to achieve full containment and should be able to contain then fire with resources presently assigned.

ENF Complex (16 Fires)
Description/Location: Approximately, 16 wildland fires resulted from Saturday’s
lightning storm. Most have been contained. The primary fire of concern is the
Soldier fire. The fire statistics below are for the Soldier Fire. The other fires were located north of Georgetown and between Highway 50 and Highway 88 in the vicinity of the North
South road. Local communities are experiencing heavy drift smoke.
Soldier fire
location: 3 miles northeast of Pollock Pines and north of Highway 50.
Size: 35 acres
Containment: 35% Expected Containment: Unknown
Fuel Type: Heavy timber, brush, and steep topography
Committed Fire Resources:

Location: Shasta-Trinity NF- Fourteen miles west of Hayfork, CA.
IC: IMT 2 (Kaage) and IMT 1 (Opliger).
Fuels: Timber.
Fire behavior: Active with short uphill runs, single and group tree torching, short-range spotting and flanking.
WUI: Numerous residences and structures threatened. Evacuations in effect.
Priority fires: Slide Fire, Dead Shot Fire, and the Telephone Fire

Canyon Complex (50+ fires),

Location:Plumas National Forest - Sixteen miles northeast of Paradise, CA
IC: IMT 1 (Pincha-Tulley).
Fuels: Timber. Rapid rates of spread with backing activity.
Priority fires: Cold Fire, Spanish Fire, and the Crest Fire

Mendocino Lightning Complex (4 fires), Mendocino Unit, Cal Fire. Cal Fire IMT 1 (Waterman). Mendocino County, CA. Timber and grass. Active fire behavior with group tree torching and slope-driven runs. Numerous residences threatened. Evacuations in effect.

SHU Lightning Complex (130 fires),

Location: Shasta and Trinity counties, CA.
IC:
Cal Fire IMT 1 (Kerschen) - Shasta-Trinity Unit, Cal Fire..
Fuels: Timber, brush and grass.
Fire behavior: Active.
WUI: Residences and commercial property threatened. Evacuations in effect. 130 fires, 34 unstaffed.
Priority fires: 3-14 Fire-1500 acres, Shingletown Fire-455 acres, Donkey Fire-300, 5-47 Fire-200 acres

Yuba River Complex (33 fires), 1300+ acres
CA-TNF-Yuba River Complex
Residences and power lines threatened. Evacuations and road closures in effect.
Location:Tahoe National Forest. - Thirteen miles northeast of Nevada City, CA.
IC: IMT 2 (Joseph).
Fuels: Timber and brush.
Fire behavior: Rapid rates of spread and crowning fire activity.
Priority fires: Scotchman Fire-250 acres, the Fall Fire-900 acres, the Clear Fire-12 acres (may merge with the Fall), Celina Fire-25 acres, the 25 Fire-60 acres, and the Omega 1 and Omega 2 -5 acres

Iron Complex (36 fires), - 18 of which are in the Trinity Alps Widerness, 8 fires contained

Location: Shasta-Trinity NF.
IC: IMT 2 (Swartzlander).
Location: One mile north of Junction City, CA.
Fuels: Heavy timber, brush and grass.
Fire behavior: Moderate rates of spread with occasional torching.
WUI: Residences threatened.

Siskiyou Complex, Klamath NF. IMT 2 (Paul). Eighteen miles southwest of Happy Camp, CA. Conifer and hardwood overstory with heavy timber litter. Active backing fire and uphill runs. Historical and cultural resources threatened.

BTU Lightning Complex (27 fires), 1397 acres, 5% contained.
CA-BTU-BTU Lightning Complex
Butte Creek Canyon fire could threaten Communities of Desabla and Magalia, Population 18,000. This is #1 priority of all BTU fires. Accessibility problems for all fires.
Problems/Concerns:
Residences threatened. Many fires are in remote areas. The Crane Ridge Fire and Butte Creek Fire are potential threats to populated areas.
Fires will be difficult to control given available resources, accessibility, and fuel conditions. Most fires are staffed. New fires are being reported and plotted by air attack.

Location: Butte County, CA.
Fuels:Timber, brush and grass.
Fire Behavior: Wind and slope driven fire activity with moderate-range spotting.
Priority fires: Rim Fire and West branch Fire

12 hours:BRANCH I (Battalions 1 Paradise Ridge & 3 Jarbo Gap) BTU priority #1 RIM & Priority #2 West Branch, pose immediate treats to Concow and Magalia respectively.
BRANCH V (Battalion 5 – Berry Creek/Feather Falls/Robinson Mill) threats to South Feather Water & Power Transmission Lines near Fields incident.
24 hours:BRANCH I (Battalions 1 Paradise Ridge & 3 Jarbo Gap) BTU priority #1 RIM & Priority #2 West Branch, pose immediate treats to Concow and Magalia respectively, see details below. BRANCH V (Battalion 5 – Berry Creek/Feather Falls/Robinson Mill) threats to South Feather Water & Power Transmission Lines near Fields incident.

Cub Complex, 600 total acres - CA-LNF-Cub Complex
Location: Lassen National Forest. Sixteen miles southwest of Chester, CA. Timber.
IC:IMT 2 ordered.
Fuels: Timber
Fire Behavior: Rapid rates of spread.
Notes: Onion Fire and Cub Fire are priority, 600 total acres


Walker, Sonoma-Lake Napa Unit, Cal Fire. Ten miles northeast of Clearlake Oaks, CA. Chaparral. Rapid rates of spread with long-range spotting. Residences threatened.

Humboldt Complex (9 fires),

IC: Humboldt-Del Norte Unit, Cal Fire.
Location: In and around Humboldt County, CA.
Fuels: Timber, slash and grass.
Fire behavior: Rapid rates of spread. Residences threatened.
Status: Lone Pine Fire, Paradise Fire, High Fire, and Williams Fire are priorities

Whitehurst / Hummingbird Fires

Fire activity: Moderate, Structures and communication infrastructure threatened.

American River Complex (3 fires),

Location: Tahoe National Forest, Eleven miles northeast of Foresthill, CA.
Fuels: Timber, brush and chaparral.
Fire behavior: Rapid rates of spread and crowning fire activity.
Priority fires: Peavine Fire, the Gov Fire, and the Westville Fire. The Gov and Westville fires may join

TGU Lightning Complex (7 large fires), 1260+ acres
CA-TGU-TGU Complex
IC:Tehama-Glenn Unit, Cal Fire.
Location: Tehama County, CA.
Fuels: Chaparral.
Fire behavior: Moderate rates of spread with flare-ups.
Priority fires: Antelope Creek Fire-600 acres, Mill Creek Fire-417 acres, Vestal Fire-181 acres, and the Ishi Fire-60 acres
  • 36 total fires
  • West Side of Unit: One 40 acre fire
  • East side of unit: Contained 450 acre fire that was burning in Mill Creek
  • Working one fire with LNF in the vicinity of Boondocks, initial report was 5 acres
  • New fire along Ishi road behind Finley Lake. Fire is working into Antelope Creek. Developing suppression plan.
  • Wild Fire, Eastern Napa County
    • 4,000 acres
    • 35% containment
    • South end of fire (Division Y) continues to threaten an estimated 250 residences in the Green Valley subdivision.
    • Tanker 910 being utilized
SRF Lightning Complex (8 fires),

Location: Six Rivers National Forest. Fifteen miles northeast of Willow Creek, CA.
Fuels: Timber.
Fire behavior: Rapid rates of spread with isolated torching and short crown runs.
Priority fires: Blue Fire, Travis Fire, Sims Fire, Packsaddle Fire, Orleans Fire, Mill Fire, and the Jack Allgood Fire

LNF June Lightning Complex, (49 fires) This complex total 400+ acres with 0% containment.
Resources: Needs are overhead, crews, and engines
Location: Lassen National Forest - Sixteen miles southwest of Chester, CA. Timber.
Fire behavior: Rapid rates of spread.

June ABCD Misc Complex (49 fires),
CA-MNF-ABCD June Complex
Location: Mendocino National Forest- Twenty-four miles southwest of Chico, CA.
Fuels: Chaparral, timber and grass. Backing fire.
WUI: Residences threatened.
Priority fires: Big Fire is the priority

LMU June Lightning Complex (45 fires),

IC: Lassen-Modoc Unit, Cal Fire.
Location: Lassen and Modoc Counties, CA.
Fuels: Timber, brush and grass.
Fire behavior: Wind-driven fire activity.
WUI: Community of Little Valley and high-voltage power lines threatened. Evacuations in effect.
Priority fires: Popcorn Fire

SHF June Lightning Complex (15 fires), 31 total fires, 8 active, 7 unstaffed

Location:Shasta-Trinity National Forest. Three miles northwest of Trinity, CA.
Fuels: Timber and brush.

WUI: Residences threatened.

MEU Lightning Complex (90 fires), 5000+ acres
CA-MEU-Mendocino Lightning Complex:
Approximately 90 wildland fires, many in commercial timberland; about 60 unstaffed
Majority of fires making significant runs... priority fires are: Navarro Fire-1400 acres, Orr Fire-100 acres, Cherry Fire-50 acres, Table Fire-1000 acres
  • Cherry Fire-50 acres
  • Orr Fire, 200 acres, has evacuation of about Orr Springs Resort and 20 homes, no containment, 5 homes destroyed
  • Navarro Fire at 1400 acres, 5% contained, potential threat to 500 homes
  • Foster Fire at 60 acres, several homes threatened, 0% contained
  • Table Fire. Table Mountain Fire 1000 acres, 5% contained, structures threatened
