CA-LAC- Ranch IC - Vegetation Fire - Newhall pass area

10/21 1100 Ranch Fire; has burned 1600 to 1800 acres. The fire is burning parallel with Los Angeles County boundry line.
10/21 0945 Ranch (CA-ANF-1306); 550 + acres I-5 cross of Templin Highway in the Castaic area. the fire is burning in a southwest direction. The fire is burning in grass and light to moderate fuels, winds 35+ mpg sustained with 50+ gusts reported. fire presorted a potential threat to Lake Piru a town of 1,200 people about 5 miles to the west and across a small lake from the blase. A condor Preserve was also potentially threatened. Picnha-Tulley CIMIT #3 is being mobilized to this incident.

Pincha-Tulley's Type 1 Team has been mobilized to the Ranch Incident on the Angeles National Forest.
Now over 500 acres burning west of I-5 at Templin Highway. Strong, gusty North winds in the area pushing the fire to the south and southwest,
IC is concerned about Castaic west of the 5 Freeway, Hasley Canyon, and Piru in the next few hours as RH drops and winds pick up with forecasted Santa Ana winds coming into play within the next few hours.
Location: TEMPLIN HWY AT TEMPLIN PK / Interstate 5 area, Grapevine south, Castaic.
Sizeup: Working fire, 60 acres with 40+ MPH winds, moving south...in few hours Community of Piru may be threatened and IC requested dispatch to notify Ventura County.
Helitack reporting fire is spotting 1/4 mile ahead of itself.
Resources: No fixed wing aircraft(Winds), Cal Fire, LA COUNTY, ANF
