Zaca Two Fire
The fire has burned 81,795 acres and is 68 % Percent contained.Critical Infrastructure Threatened (in hour time frames):
12 hours: Live Oak Zone - Paradise River Road to Gibraltar Dam. Major Electric Transmission Lines.
48 hours: Richardson Zone
- Southern California Gas Company, 20 inch natural gas pipeline.
72 hours: Richardson Zone - Residences along hwy 33 from Ozena north to Santa Barbara Canyon road Live Oak Zone
Narrative: The fire made several large runs in Indian Creek Canyon over the last two days creating an extensive fire front to the North and East. Over night the fire backed towards Buckhorn creek on the South end of the Dick Smith Wilderness and stayed on the ridges to the East of the wilderness. Some active burning was observed North of the Indian Creek Campground.
Richardson Zone - Occasional runs are occurring where slope and wind are aligned. Group torching. Live Oak Zone
The opening of the 154 hwy in conjunction with the anticipated heavy weekend traffic is a concern for firefighter and public safety however speed and lane restrictions are in place to help mitigate the risk.
Richardson Zone - The Acres, line to build, and structures threatened/lost are the combined total. The break down is as follows: Acres - Live Oak-75,300 Richardson-6,495. Line which remains to be built - Live Oak-40 miles, Richardson-17 miles. Structures threatened - Live Oak-515 Richardson-80
