Editors update: Spoke too soon? A few hours later the interior islands really lit up on the sat maps but so far she's holding...

Success on the $101 million dollar Zaca 2 Fire looks very promising apparently the strategies employed by Fire Command have succeed, this mornings GeoMac showed no recent burning except for small areas within interior islands of fuel, this afternoon the burned area was even older and holding steady and the narrative on the latest Inciweb Announcement

"Live Oak Zone: The Management strategy has succeeded. Richardson Zone: High on ability to anchor and hold on Sierra Madre Ridge toward Hwy 33 and moderate from Pine Mtn. summit toward Ozena. Moderate on West perimeter".

Seems very promising that the Zaca Fire 2 perimeter shown here will be the final perimeter

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
