San Andreas, CA -- Shortly after nine o'clock this morning CAL FIRE officials reported an acre-and-a-half vegetation fire at Hwy 108 and Tulloch Rd.

Seven engines, a water tender, a transport dozer and two baseline crews were ordered, but the fire was quickly extinguished and the recall came within 15 minutes of the resource order.

This marks at least the third fire in this area this year.

No cause of the fire has been determined.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
