THE RED FLAG WARNING IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM PDT FRIDAY. VERY WARM AND DRY CONDITIONS EXIST IN THE MOUNTAINS...ESPECIALLY ABOVE 4000 FT ASL. AS A RESULT... MANY LOCATIONS WILL EXPERIENCE A PROLONGED PERIOD OF MINIMUM HUMIDITIES BELOW 10 PERCENT WITH SOME SITES ACTUALLY FALLING BELOW 5 PERCENT... MAINLY DURING THE NIGHT AND EARLY MORNING HOURS. DAYTIME TEMPERATURES WILL REACH WELL INTO THE 90S AND EVEN EXCEED 100 DEGREES IN A FEW PLACES IN THE AFTERNOON.

A RED FLAG WARNING MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE OCCURRING NOW. A COMBINATION OF LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND WARM TEMPERATURES WILL CREATE EXPLOSIVE FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL. PLEASE ADVISE THE APPROPRIATE OFFICIALS OR FIRE CREWS IN THE FIELD OF THIS RED FLAG WARNING.
