Updated here: CDF Portable Radio frequency Load out - 2008- Version: 790V7d - Spring 2008

CDF Portable Radio Load - Version: 790V7a - Late 2007
These tables show the frequencies typically loaded into CAL FIRE BK Radio GPH-CMD series 500-channel handie talkies. The memory in these radio is divided into 25 groups of 20 channels per group. The first 14 are for day-to-day local use and a programed on a unit-by-unit basis. Group 15 where frequencies for a current major incident can be cloned. Groups 16-25 are a common statewide frequency load.

There is a 26th or "Command" group in the radio, meant to be programmed "on-the-fly" by the user by selecting frequencies from other groups. The radios are also fully field-programmable, as required.

PGM VERSION MARKER

EDITOR: This list is invaluable for anyone hand programming a BK Radio..Fire Contractors, Cooperators, Volunteers, News personal. Also the California Travel Channel is defunct now...

1 comment:

  1. Travel Net was replaced in 2008 with CESRS Direct. Currently, CDF is not authorized to use the CESRS repeated system, but they can use the OES Fire Net if need be.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
