Zaca Fire is 1200 acres
Santa Barbara back county, 9 miles north of Los Olivos

UPDATE FROM AROUND THE NET -1730 HRS -
  • Severe weather events today
  • No expected date or time of containment.
  • Another wind event coming through.
  • This fire has been rippin a bit today and the column is once again.
  • Very visible on the visible satellite loop.
  • Current 209 - 690 acres with 30% containment is likely innacurate at this point.
  • Recon flight to provide an update scheduled.
  • Zaca Fire has entered the LPF - Los Padres NationalForest
  • The Foothills fire has been 30% contained but has the potential to grow into steep train
  • 884 firefighters battling the blaze, 15 helicopters and 5 water tenders
  • No structures have been lost have burned and there's no immediate threat to
    homes, ranches or wineries in the area
  • Zaca Lake Road is closed, Foxen Canyon Road is open but officials ask you to avoid the 154 highway and Foxen Canyon Road
  • Four firefighters have been treated for heat exhaustion and one for a cut finger
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

  1. this is posted on wildlandfire.com hotist "Sky Crane down on the Zaca incident. Two engines requested and Two medivac helos requested to Figueroa RD.

    hospital.
