Catalina Fire - Island Incident

Weather - Cabrillo Main Station reports clear skies and fog with 3 miles visibility. Wind speed is 18 knots from the Southwest. Surf is poor and 1 to 1 feet from the Southwest with a period of 10 seconds. Sea surface has white caps. Air temperature is 57 degrees Fahrenheit and water temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit.

KCAL stating that the fire is out of control and about 2 miles from
Avalon, moving towards Avalon. Approx 100 acres

A brush fire burned about 100 acres of brush Thursday afternoon on Catalina Island.No structures are threatened, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.The fire is about two miles northwest of Avalon. Authorities said the fire is burning toward the city.

La Co. asking LA City for another water dropping helicopter. Now asking for
a type 1 helicopter if available in addition.
