CALFIRE: Exalt wins forestry contract for microwave backhaul systems


Exalt wins CALFIRE forestry contract

Exalt Communications said #CALFIRE the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection deployed microwave backhaul systems from Exalt to support video surveillance in its unsupervised lookout towers in El Dorado County.

The system of tower-mounted cameras and backhaul allows CAL FIRE dispatchers to gather information and dispatch resources where necessary. The all-outdoor microwave backhaul system provides 200 Mbps Ethernet capacity over distances up to 26 miles.

It is expected that the system will be expanded to other locations over time.
