Redwood City 6-Alarm Commercial Structure Fire #CaFire

Redwood City firefighters battle a six-alarm fire at a commercial machine shop early Friday morning.
The first call came in at 5:52 a.m. to a building at 894 Douglas Ave. at  FMW Machine Shop, which services include welding, brazing, soldering, processing, forming, heat treatment, machining and processing.
Four apartments are attached to the building and appear destroyed, though there are no reports of injuries at this time. One woman was frantically looking for her husband about 7 a.m.
The call quickly escalated from three, to four to six alarms, all within an hour.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
