San Diego Say's Farewell And Congratulations To CAL FIRE Chief Porter Declaring 3rd day of December “FIRE CHIEF THOMAS PORTER DAY” throughout San Diego County."
San Diego County Board of Supervisors celebrated the contributions today of CAL FIRE Chief Thomas Porter today as he assumes a promotion to CAL FIRE Assistant Region Chief for the Southern Region. CAL FIRE Chief Porter was an excellent and innovative partner to this Board of Supervisors.
San Diego County is better, and safer, for having this native son rise to the top local state fire position, as well as serving as the first San Diego County Regional Fire Authority Fire Chief in 2011.
With that in mind, Vice Chair Dianne Jacob and I led the board in declaring:
"BE IT PROCLAIMED by Chairman Greg Cox all members of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors on this 3rd day of December 2013 that they commend THOMAS PORTER for outstanding service, leadership, and commitment to area residents, and do hereby declare this day to be “FIRE CHIEF THOMAS PORTER DAY” throughout San Diego County."
Congratulations Chief.
