Thank you so much for this post-finally something that could tell me what just happened. I was shaken awake to hear everything on my dresser rattling and my bed shaking- oddest sensation of my life! My dad felt it on the other side of the house. We thought a tree or an animal hit the house ha! Really glad to know what really happened-earthquakes in IL how bizarre!
ReplyDeleteI am located in Rockford, IL, about 40 miles NW of the quake center. I had just sat down at my computer when I heard & felt the quake. It felt like the impact of a large tree falling to the ground, so much so that I put on coat and boots, got a flashlight, and went outside to look around. I was not aware that was an active fault in this part of Illinois.
ReplyDeleteI am located in Rockford, IL about 40 miles NW of the earthquake center. I had just sat down at my computer when I heard and felt the earthquake. It felt like a large tree striking the ground - so much so that I put on my coat and boots and went outside to look. I was unaware there was an active fault this close to Rockford.
