08/03 - 0800 - Wildcat; CA-YNP-2968, 530 acres. The Incident is being managed for multiple resource objectives and resource benefits. Some single tree torching, but other wise, normal minimal fire activity burning in brush and under story. The fire is mostly active on the northeast flank with an increase in fire behavior on the southwest and west flanks. The projected mma is 1,300 to 1,500 acres.
08/03 - 0800 - Lion; CA-SQF-2139, 2,023 acres, Monitoring of incident and rehabilitation of fire lines ongoing. Fire continues creeping and smoldering with some single tree torching. Fire is being managed for resource benefits as needed. Final projected size MMA is 5,700 acres.
08/03 - 0800 - Knight; CA-STF-002207, 4594 acres, 40% contained. Incident is Unified Command (Johnson-USFS / Rambo - CALFIRE). Good progress made today with mop up and rehabilitation due to firing operations with favorable weather conditions. Fire continues to back towards the Middle Fork of the Stanislaus on the east side of the fire. The eastern side of the fire has backed it way to the river long Division A. Firing operations are expected to tie into the river on the west flank guiding the fire to back to the middle fork.423 CALFIRE personnel are assigned, there are total of personnel 1,352 assigned. If the weather holds favorably, there is a significant potential for demobilization as early as Wednesday or Thursday this week.
08/03 - 0800 - Ponderosa CA-LPF-2563, 350 acres, 0% containment. Central Coast Type -2 ICT (Smith) has been in briefed on the fire and has tentative transition scheduled for 0600 hour today is and team evaluating Unified Command with Fort Hunter Liggett. The fire is burning in grass and chaparral in steep inaccessible terrain in the Ventana Wilderness and may have the potential to burn 3,000 to 5,000 acres. 97 CALFIRE personnel are assigned adding to a total of 429 altogether.
