CA-CNF- San Juan - Vegetation Fire - 5 acres - 100%

San Juan (CA-CNF-003056) - Cleveland National Forest, Wildland Fire

Update: 08:30hrs - San Juan (CA-CNF-3056) Started yesterday at 1424 hours and burned 5 acres. The fire is 100% contained.

IA: 11-17-08 -1415 initially as 3 separate fires.
Location: Cleveland National Forest, mile marker 12, 5 miles east of the entrance to Casper's Park. 14 miles east of San Juan Capistrano and 2.5 miles east of the USFS San Juan Fire Station on the east side of SR 74(Ortega Highway) in the southern part of the county.
Current Sizeup: Initial attack picked up 2 fires at less than an acre. The third fire has spread into extremely rugged terrain and Heavy Fuels and is presently at 5 acres.
The fire has a potential to extending to 200 acres in the heavy vegetation, an Orange County Fire Authority official said.
Resources: OCFA, CNF, Crews and aircraft, With 4 helos, 3 airtankers, AT 460. Requesting 5 water tenders.

Road closures: The California Highway Patrol has shut down a 25-mile stretch of the Ortega Highway, from Antonio Parkway to Grand Avenue in Lake Elsinore.
