Fire weather watch: SO-CAL High deserts

[EDIS] a fire weather watch is in effect from 11 am friday morning until 7 pm friday evening for the high deserts due to very low relative humidity and strong west to southwest winds

A STRONG BUT DRY COLD FRONT WILL MOVE SLOWLY SOUTHWARD ACROSS SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA THURSDAY NIGHT THROUGH SATURDAY. THIS WILL CAUSE A 6 TO 9 HOUR PERIOD ON FRIDAY OF RELATIVE HUMIDITY BELOW 15 PERCENT AND SUSTAINED SOUTHWEST WINDS OVER 25 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 45 MPH ACROSS THE HIGH DESERT AREAS. THE AREAS AFFECTED BY THIS FIRE WEATHER WATCH INCLUDE VICTOR VALLEY... APPLE VALLEY... LUCERNE VALLEY... YUCCA VALLEY... AND MORONGO VALLEY. WINDS WILL BE GUSTING OVER 35 MPH BOTH THURSDAY NIGHT AND ALSO ON SATURDAY BUT THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS EXPECTED TO BE ABOVE 15 PERCENT DURING THESE PERIODS. ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING FOR A COMBINATION OF LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND STRONG WEST TO SOUTHWEST WINDS ACROSS VICTOR VALLEY...APPLE VALLEY...LUCERNE VALLEY...YUCCA VALLEY...AND MORONGO VALLEY... THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A FIRE WEATHER WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS FORECAST TO RANGE BETWEEN 5 AND 15 PERCENT WHILE WINDS ARE BLOWING FROM THE WEST AND SOUTHWEST AT 25 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS OVER 45 MPH.

A FIRE WEATHER WATCH MEANS THAT CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR. LISTEN FOR LATER FORECASTS AND POSSIBLE RED FLAG WARNINGS.
