News and Notes

7/20	0800	Basin Complex (CA-LPF-1649); 133,709 acres and 70% containment. A voluntary evacuation remains in effect for all residents off of Carmel Valley Road from Arroyo Seco in the south to Cachagua Road junction in the north. A structure contingency plan is in place for Upper and Lower Cachagua, Zen, Freds, Miller, White Rock, and Santa Lucia. Crews continued to make good progress.
7/19	0600	Basin Complex (CA-LPF-1649) Type Incident Command Team #3, Pincha-Tulley will assume command of the East Basin Complex at 1800hrs. tonight.
7/19	0600	Basin Complex (CA-LPF-1649) 133,270 acres, 70 % contained. Crews continue to make good progress with burning operations in Div. PP. Crews were able to complete firing from the Arroyo Seco drainage up to H-14 East of Rocky Creek during the last operational period. Crews will continue to improve fire line today and burn out as necessary in Div GG and LL. Backfiring will continue in Div PP/OO while holding existing containment lines, mopping up and patrolling. West Zone: Crews will continue to patrol and mop-up. Very dry conditions are predicted to move in over the next 24 hours, especially in areas above 5,000ft. in elevation. These dry conditions will begin to appear gradually today. A Voluntary Evacuation remains in place from the North East corner of the Los Padres Dam South to the perimeter of the Indians Fire.
7/19	0450	A weak low pressure off the Southern California coast and high pressure over Northern Arizona is expected to direct a surge of monsoonal moisture into Southwest California late today through tomorrow. Thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall and flash flooding are possible for the San Bernardino , Riverside and San Diego County valleys and mountains and the Santa Ana mountains and foothills mainly during the afternoon and evening hours Sunday through Tuesday. Humidity values will be very low across the higher elevations of the Central Coast today and Sunday.
