No-burn proclamation issued for San Diego and Imperial Counties

All Burn permits have been suspended in San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Cal Fire has issued a no-burn proclamation for San Diego and Imperial Counties due to the hot, windy and dry conditions forecast for this weekend.

Low humidity and winds gusting 30 to 40 mph expected this weekend in some areas will also add to the fire danger

Fires will only be allowed in established campgrounds open to the public.

****REMINDER**** Every fire has the ability to be catastrophic. The wildland fire management environment has profoundly changed. Growing numbers of communities, across the nation, are experiencing longer fire seasons; more frequent, bigger, and more severe, fires are a real threat. Be careful with all campfires and equipment.

"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts, and beer." --Abraham Lincoln
