Search and rescue teams and firefighters late Tuesday were attempting to rescue two hikers and a firefighter who fell down a cliff near Running Springs, a San Bernardino County sheriff's spokesman said.
Three hikers fell down the cliff. One climbed up and called for help, said sheriff's spokeswoman Jodi Miller.
A firefighter trying to help the hikers fell about 25 feet to 30 feet down the cliff and was injured, Miller said.
Firefighters will first attempt to hoist the firefighter up because he is the closest, Miller said.
After the firefighter is rescued, sheriff's search and rescue members will try to pull up the two hikers.
Neither appeared to be injured, Miller said.
Miller did not know how far down the hikers fell or how long it would take to rescue them.
