Weather: Snow predicted in SF Bay area?

[EDIS] winter storm watch 4 pm monday through 4 am tuesday for the north bay hills for the possibility of accumulating snowfall for elevations above 1000 feet

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT FOR THE NORTH BAY HILLS ABOVE 1000 FEET.
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN FRANCISCO HAS ISSUED A WINTER STORM WATCH...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT. SNOW LEVELS WILL FALL TO AROUND 2000 FEET BY MONDAY AFTERNOON AS RAIN AND SNOW SHOWERS DEVELOP. BY MONDAY EVENING SNOW LEVELS WILL FALL TO AROUND 1500 FEET AND LOCALLY TO 1000 FEET IN HEAVIER SHOWERS. ACCUMULATING SNOW APPEARS MOST LIKELY OVER EXTREME NORTHERN NAPA COUNTY AND NORTHEASTERN SONOMA COUNTY NEAR THE LAKE COUNTY BORDER.
HIGHER PEAKS SUCH AS MOUNT SAINT HELENA COULD SEE SNOW TOTAL OF 3 TO 6 INCHES BY TUESDAY MORNING. ELEVATIONS BETWEEN 1500 AND 2500 FEET CAN EXPECT 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH A DUSTING TO 1 INCH BETWEEN 1000 AND 1500 FEET. AREAS MOST PRONE TO ACCUMULATING SNOWFALL WILL INCLUDE HIGHWAY 29 NEAR ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON PARK AND SECTIONS OF HIGHWAY 128. IN ADDITION WITH EAST WINDS EXPECTED...EAST FACING SLOPES WILL SEE THE POSSIBILITY FOR THE MOST SNOWFALL. THERE IS STILL MUCH UNCERTAINTY WITH THE EXACT STORM TRACK THEREFORE ONLY A WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED AT THIS TIME. CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS FOR THE MOST UP TO DATE INFORMATION.

How fires get their names

Every year in California thousands of wildfires start throughout the state. In most cases, the dispatch center sending the initial resources to a wildland fire will designate a name for the fire, but the first on scene engine or fire official can also name the incident. Fires are usually named for the area in which they start – a geographical location, local landmark, street, lake, mountain, peak, etc. Quickly naming the fire provides responding fire resources with an additional locater, and allows fire officials to track and prioritize incidents by name. For example during the Southern California Fire Siege of 2003, the largest wildland fire in California history, the Cedar Fire in San Diego County, was named after the Cedar Creek Falls area where it started. The destructive Old Fire, which burned during the same time period in San Bernardino County, was named after the road along which it started - Old Waterman Canyon Road.
