CA-ENF Kyburz fire: Vegetation Fire Highway 50 at Kybruz. Mandatory evacuations

Evacuations: Mandatory evacuations in place from fire area east to Sand Flat campground and for the community of Sugarloaf have been lifted. Voluntary evacuations in place from Sand Flat campground east to the community of Strawberry.
Mandatory evacuations east of the fire to Sand Flat Campground.
Road Closures:  Escorted traffic has begun for Highway 50.
Highway 50 is closed from Pollock Pines to Meyers. 



TFR for 5 nautical Miles and 10,000 feet MSL around the fire

Update 7-26-15 1815: 98 acres, 80% contained. Reduced acreage due to updated mapping. Hwy 50 is reopened to traffic.

Update 7-24-15 1815: 200 acres, 30% contained. Mandatory evacuations in place from fire area east to Sand Flat campground and for the community of Sugarloaf have been lifted. Voluntary evacuations in place from Sand Flat campground east to the community of Strawberry. Escorted traffic has begun for Highway 50.

Update 7-24-15 1100: 200 acres, 30% contained. Highway closures and evacuations are still in place.

Update 7-23-15 1730: 100+ acres mandatory  from fire to Sand Flat CG just west of Kyburz. Current evacuation center  Strawberry Lodge 


Update 7-23-15 1630: 60 acres, 0% contained. Mandatory evacuations east of the fire to Sand Flat Campground. North Ops sending T1 helo from Minden.
