ALFD: Alameda County Fire at Santa Rita County Jail, Explosion MCI 11 Injured #CaFire


Update: Cause of the kitchen fire at Santa Rita Jail in #Dublin is under investigation by @ACSOSheriffs & ACFD fire investigators. The multi-agency response to Santa Rita Jail took place under a Unified Command w/ Fire, EMS & Law Enforcement agencies.

 Fire officials say as many as 11 people were injured at least one critically in a kitchen fire at a San Francisco Bay Area jail. Four taken to a local hospital and another seven treated at the jail infirmary 
Alameda County Fire spokeswoman Aisha Knowles says an oven at the Santa Rita Jail caught fire and then exploded around 11:40 a.m. Tuesday.
At least one person suffered critical injuries.
Knowles said she was headed to the jail and didn't immediately have additional information.
