A person of interest in custody in connection arson series last night in Sherman Oaks area

A person of interest has been taken into custody in connection to a string of arson fires all started within in the Sherman Oaks Los Angeles area.



First fire started at 8:40 p.m. Wednesday, and at least six fires were set in total. At least three fires set along Ventura Boulevard near Woodman Avenue.

Most were of the fires set were dumpster fires. The largest structure fire started at a commercial building and spread to an adjacent two-story apartment complex, causing $20,000 in damage.

The "person of interest" was taken into custody and was booked on an unrelated parole violation overnight at Moorpark Street and Katherine Avenue.
