RED FLAG WARNING FIRE WEATHER ZONE 229 LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY

CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER 
  A RED FLAG WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM PDT /8 PM MST/ THIS EVENING.

 CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS ARE EITHER OCCURRING OR ARE IMMINENT. A COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, WARM TEMPERATURES AND DRY FUELS WILL CREATE EXTREME FIRE GROWTH POTENTIAL.
 WEATHER CONDITIONS: A LARGE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE MOVING INTO NORTHERN NEVADA TODAY WILL BRING AREAS OF STRONG SOUTHWEST WINDS.  A VERY DRY AIR MASS WILL ALSO REMAIN IN PLACE.

 AFFECTED AREA:
CALIFORNIA - FIRE WEATHER ZONE 229 LOWER COLORADO RIVER VALLEY.
ARIZONA - FIRE WEATHER ZONE 101 LAKE MEAD NRA/COLORADO RIVER-AZ SIDE.
NEVADA - FIRE WEATHER ZONE 463 SHEEP RANGE, FIRE WEATHER ZONE 464 SPRING MOUNTAINS, FIRE WEATHER ZONE 465 CLARK AND SW LINCOLN COUNTY DESERTS/LAS VEGAS DISPATCH AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 466 LAKE MEAD NRA/COLORADO RIVER- NV SIDE.

 TIMING: WIDESPREAD STRONG WINDS WILL PEAK DURING THE MID AFTERNOON THEN GRADUALLY DECREASE THIS EVENING.
WIND: SOUTHWEST 20 TO 30 MPH WITH GUSTS 35 TO 50 MPH. * HUMIDITY...6 TO 12 PERCENT MUCH OF THE DAY INTO THIS EVENING.
IMPACTS: THE COMBINATION OF STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS WILL CREATE CONDITIONS THAT ARE FAVORABLE FOR EXTREME FIRE BEHAVIOR.
